Slip Resistant Decking

Slip Resistant Decking resolving health and safety issues

The recent growth in the use of timber decking has been evident in both the domestic and commercial markets. However, whilst grooved timber can be structurally strong, hard wearing, and attractive to the eye; it has an inherent drawback...

Rain, frost, fallen leaves etc. can quickly turn an otherwise safe walking route into a slippery and treacherous surface, posing a serious health and safety question.

Gripdeck has the answer with our specially formulated resin bonded aggregate inserts.

The process is carried out under factory controlled conditions by injecting a formula of epoxy resins blended with fillers into the timber grooves. This well tested formulation bonds to many different species of timber and holds the surface aggregate which gives the decking its slip resistant finish.

The Company pioneered the addition of an anti-slip element to timber decking, and we have produced in excess of 500,000 meters of this for other timber companies (who may have promoted it under their own brand).

Our standard finish is in a neutral grey using Guyanan Bauxite which has superb non-slip and hard wearing qualities. However we can offer a number of other aggregates and finishes to tie in perfectly with your particular decking situation.
