Slip Resistant Testing

All GripDeck products have surpassed both the wet and dry anti slip standards as set out by UK Slip Resistance Guidelines, described in the British Standards BS 7976 (part 1-3, 2002).

The Stanley Pendulum tests generate a co-efficient slip value used to rate anti slip products. A co-efficient of 65 out of 100 is required for any anti slip surface to be classed as having an extremely low risk of slip.

Anti Slip Decking – Slip Resistant Data

If you are using a standard size of decking, around 145mm, we would recommend you do not go to the expense of 3 anti slip strips in your decking, as the improvement in its slip resistance over 2 strips is marginal. Both 2 strips and 3 strips provide excellent anti slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions. However, if the direction of traffic is along the lengths of the timber, we would recommend 3 strips for added protection.
