Anti Slip FAQs

What is the average turn around time, for GripDeck Decking?
We have an average turnaround time of around 1-2 weeks. Turnaround time will vary depending on the nature of your order and scheduled workload in our manufacturing plant.
Smooth or Grooved decking, which is best?
Its really down to your personal preference. A smooth deck board obviously has no grooves, which means they are easy to clean but they may hold a little more surface water without the grooves in place to disperse it.
Can you supply GripDeck decking in any kind of timber?
Yes, pretty much … we can source most soft and hardwoods. Some timbers are better than others to be used for decking. For example, some softwoods can mark more quickly than others, and so may not be well suited for areas with extremely heavy footfall, especially if that footfall involves stilettos!
Do you fill all of the decking grooves with anti slip?
We would normally recommend using only 2 or 3 strips of GripDeck anti slip on standard 5 or 7 groove decking. We can fill every groove with anti slip, but this will cost alot more and will add very little to the non slip quality of your decking.
My decking is not a standard size or profile, can you still help?
Yes of course … If the design of your decking is bespoke e.g curved, we can manufacture bespoke anti slip decking to your requirements. For non standard profiles, we can rout out the grooves before applying our anti slip. Bespoke work will cost more and can take more time, but we are always happy to help, so do give us a call to discuss.
My decking is a little warped, is this a big problem?
No, not at all … Timber decking is a natural product and is flexible enough to move, which is one of its advantages. Our production line still apply anti slip to slightly warped decking and once installed using the correct fixings, the decking will reform to a completely flat surface.
Can I send you my decking to be GripDecked?
Yes, many customers do … We can order the decking for you or take in decking purchased by yourself and delivered to us. If your decking is damp or has been pre-treated, it could delay your order.
I already have my decking installed, can you help?
Yes, but you need our RetroGrip® product … RetroGrip® is ideal for pre-fitted decking. Click here to read more about RetroGrip® anti slip inserts.

Does it need to be professionally fitted?
No … It is very simple to fit. Simply clean the decking, add a little external adhesive to the grooves, drop in the RetroGrip® inserts and finish off by screwing them into place. It really is that simple!
Does it fit all types of decking?
Yes and No … RetroGrip® inserts are designed to fit the majority of decking profiles, but it may be too narrow for some non standard decking profiles. To ensure it will fit in your decking, get in touch and request a free sample.
What colours does it come in?
RetroGrip® comes as standard with an aluminium finish, but it also comes with a grey powder coated finish, as shown above.
What lengths do you supply?
Our standard lengths are 1.2m but for larger commercial projects we can supply bespoke lengths at extra cost.
Does it come with the fixings?
Yes … GripDeck can supply plenty of external quality adhesive in cartridges and enough screw fixings to secure the inserts. There is a small charge for this.
